Safety management

As a chemical company aiming to make effective use of resources from waste and to create environmentally friendly products with "Creating Environmental Needs" as the business theme , our basic principle are:

  • Safety management starts with a love for humanity and a sense of responsibility.
  • Ensuring safety is the responsibility of all employees.
  • No safety means no prosperity for the company. No prosperity for the company means no happiness for employees.

With these basic principles, we are working voluntarily and continuously on maintaining and improving a safe and secure working environment for our employees, with the goal of achieving "zero accidents" throughout our business flow, from the collection and transport of industrial waste such as organic solvents to the manufacturing of reused and recycled products.

Environmental management

Today, greenhouse gas emissions from business activities are on the increase. Recognizing the importance of combating global warming, we have started to cut down on our emissions through efforts in each field, and are contributing towards achieving a sustainable society through those efforts.

  • We will strive to reduce emissions by recycling waste.
  • We will further improve energy use efficiency and strive to save resources.

Contributing to local communities

Aiming for plants that are safe

The Sanwayuka Group is focused on having smooth communication with residents around our plants through various activities in order to ensure that they can live with peace of mind. We are building a system that provides peace of mind to both residents and our company through cooperation. For example, we are inviting people from other companies, government officials, and residents to our plants and asking them to check our efforts for safety.

Workplace patrols by external consultants

Joint disaster preparedness drills

Once every two years, we conduct a joint disaster preparedness drill with Kinuura Eastern Wide Area Union Fire Bureau. In these drills, we received practical training under firefighters' guidance on handling small fire extinguishers and extinguishing fires with water.

Holding resident exchange meetings

With the aim of making our plants open to local communities, we invite residents and people from the government and hold resident exchange meetings twice a year. In addition, we create a place to meet with local officials and have established a system for incorporating the opinions and requests of the local community. As for environmental and safety measures, we conduct plant tours to show the actual progress of these measures on-site. We are continuously making efforts to improve while having sufficient communication.

Odor patrol with residents participation

At the exchange meeting, we ask residents to visit our plant directly and see the environmental and safety measures we have taken. By asking residents to see the actual progress of these measures on-site and for their honest opinions at the get-together meeting afterwards, we are continuously making efforts to improve while having sufficient communication.
Once a month, we conduct odor patrol with residents. By experiencing how the patrols are carried out and the countermeasures are being taken, seeing it with their own eyes, and listening to opinions, we can achieve more realistic measures and improvements.

Participating in local events

Coexistence with the local community is essential for a company to continue their business activities. On the resource collection days (carried out once a month in Ichiriyama Area) Sanwayuka Industry and Sanwaryutu not only provide corrugated cardboard and waste newspaper, but also help local officials load the recovered resources into the disposal operator's trucks. We also participate in the bon dance festival in the summer, bring small presents, and respond to various donations.
In addition to the Ichiriyama area, where our head office is located, we participate in local events at each site and participate in local contribution activities as much as we can.
